Good photo management apps can make sorting and editing your photos much easier with built-in organiser tools, photo editors, sharing features and cloud storage.
Here are some of the best apps on the market:
Google Photos - the App is free and available for Android and iOS phones. It has unlimited cloud storage space and cross-device syncing for your photos (with minimal compression), as well as the option to store original quality photos in your drive space. The app can be set to automatically back up and sync. The App also has an Assistant feature which helps you set up albums, grouped photos stories and animated photos.
Slidebox - The App is free and available for Android and iOS phones. This App takes a dating app-like approach to sorting through your photos – there's a quick, swipe-driven interface for sifting through your locally-stored photos, screenshots and other assorted images. When you enter the app, all of your unsorted photos are presented to you in a queue. Swiping left or right moves through your queue, swiping up tosses a photo into a trash bin, and tapping on a series of labels at the bottom of the screen allows you to save photos into albums or create new ones. The iOS version offers a subscription-based cloud backup option for up to 10,000 images for a monthly fee.
Amazon Photos - The App is free and available for Android and iOS phones. This app was only available to Amazon Prime users but it has now been opened up to everyone. It provides subscribers with unlimited cloud storage and all photos can be stored with their original resolution so you don’t lose any of the quality. It also allows for the storage of video and document storage (up to 5GB). This App has recently been updated with an enhanced family sharing features, allowing you to share your photos with up to five family members, as well as a new shared Family Vault.
Flickr - The App is free and available for Android and iOS phones. This App does not offer the storage capabilities of other the other Apps, it limits users to one thousand stored photos for free. You can upgrade your package but this will cost. The App groups your photos by date and has a great social feature in that it lets you share your photos with friends and keep track of the photos that your friends have shared.
